Stephen Curry

For those of you who haven't been paying attention, I'm not a big college basketball fan. Well, to be fair, I'm not such a big basketball fan at any level anymore. It seems to me that everybody plays this crap individual-centered style of selfish play that I can't stand; I miss team basketball. Of course, I also like winning.

It's March Madness, though, so of course I've been watching a lot of basketball lately. I love cheering for the underdog, there's been a lot of Davidson on my TV. I have to say that I am already tired of hearing about Stephen Curry. I must have heard his name a thousand times this month. The kid isn't even out of college yet, and I'm already looking forward to his retirement so I don't have to hear about him anymore.

In my opinion, Curry is the reason Davidson lost today. He had the ball and was stupid with it, forcing his teammate to take a desperation 3-pointer at the last second from way beyond the arch. It was ridiculous. So, maybe that'll put at least a temporary mute on the kid's fame. Hooray!

Shut Your Mouths

Howard Dean, the chairman of the Democrat Party, says that former first lady Hillary Rodham Clinton and the liberal Barack Hussein Obama need to quit attacking each other. He also said that their supporters "should keep their mouths shut." Well, I guess we know which party respects your right to free speech.

Dean also suggested that we give up our right to bear arms, our right to assemble peaceably, and freedom of religion. When asked if those were the only changes needed in America, Dean replied, "Well, it's a start."

Open Letter to US Cellular

Dear U.S. Cellular:

I fully anticipate that I will discontinue using your service as soon as my contract with you expires in October. I guess you didn't think I would notice that my phone cuts out randomly whenever I am away from the center of town. Maybe you thought it wouldn't bother me that I get most of my text messages an hour and a half after they are sent. I don't know what you were thinking, but your service sucks, and I won't be a customer for long.

Good day.

Loving Single Life

I love being single. I really do. Every once in a while I remember the time when I was happily married (yes, that happened) and I emailed my friend Steve and told him that if anything ever happened to my then-wife that I would never get married again because there's no way I am ever putting up with the crap again!

It's a good thing that I feel that way. I just read (and I honestly read it--I'm not just making this up) that when a man gets married for a second time, on average his wife is ten years younger than him. The same thing said that 20% of those men will marry someone twenty years younger. So, I guess if I want to marry a high school graduate, I'm going to have to wait. Uh, not a problem.

New Rule

Dear Friends,

I have a new rule. If you want to email me an eleven minute video, please take the time to make sure that it doesn't SUCK before you send it.

It really irritates me when this rule is violated.

Thank you,

Mike

Delusional People

So, what is the deal with people? We all like to pretend that anything good that happens to us is the product of our own behavior and anything bad that happens to us is because we are victims of someone else's treachery against us. Why? Is it even possible that we are all self-made, but only torn down by others? Couldn't it be that we are made by the grace of God, the aid of others, or sheer dumb luck? Couldn't it be that our problems are self-inflicted?

Isn't the idea that we create all the good that we experience the definition of arrogance? Isn't the belief that our problems is because someone else did evil upon us the picture of irresponsibility?

One final question. Am I the only one who sees "RVC Math Lab" and thinks it says "RVC Meth Lab" every time? Seriously.
