This guy was stabbed in the neck and in the spine by some crazy woman he doesn't even know. This wasn't on the bad side of town. There wasn't an altercation. This is just what life is like in the Rock River Valley.

That, too.
If that's what life is like, it wouldn't make the headlines. It's in the news precisely because it's unusual. The routine crap is the stuff that gets buried in the small print of the paper and doesn't make it to TV news at all. That's the crap you have to worry about.
It wasn't really in the headlines as far as I can tell. I mean, I heard them mention it once on the radio when an arrest was made.
I wish this was just some headline that caught my attention. It wasn't. It would have never caught my attention if I didn't know the victim's family and if his sister didn't send me the link that I posted in the original blog.
