Four Simple Rules

I have four simple rules.  (I recently added the third, for those of you scouring the archives to tell me what a hypocrite I am.)

1 - Do unto others as you would have them do to you.

2 - Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance.

3 - Do do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

4 - Rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips.

If you know anyone who can live by these three rules, please help me get in contact with them. I need somebody.  Shoot, if you know anyone who manages to successfully live by any ONE of these rules, I want to meet that person, because I bet he or she is incredible to be around.

I suppose the fact that I don't have people banging on the door wanting to be involved in my life is probably a pretty good indicator that I am a failure at my four rules.

Maybe I should spend more time with my dog.  He's not too good at rules 1 and 3, but he's still got most of my circles beat.  Pathetic.

Hey, I've been writing this blog for over four years now.  They can't all be great.  You get what you paid for, anyway.
This guy is pretty much my style.

1 - Matthew 7:12
2 - James 1:2-3
3 - Isaiah 41:10
4 - Colossians 3:8
